all you writers and poets and rockers and rollers,
movers and shakers, raise up your fists!
gambling isn’t a problem – it’s a way of living,
life is a balance of luck and risk.
designer fetish: coach purses and ugg boots and gucci,
a soldier in dior, prada bags, shades by armani.
it’s the coke and the money and the class and the bling,
the mansions in miami and méxico, sipping sunsets and gin,
to barbados, jamaica, milan, and tahiti,
las vegas, costa rica, new zealand, and fiji,
nowhere at all and all the spaces in-between,
it’s only another yachting trip or jet flight, if you please.
absolutely nothing is too good for us;
absolutely nothing is out of my reach.
all the stars in the sky, all the salt of the sea,
the money in your pocket, swiss vaults and museums
full of priceless arts and all the diamonds and the pearls.
every car they ever made is ours, but i drive a coupe de ville.
b-boy limpin’, leg-up, step-out strutting the streets –
we drink scotch like it was water; it’s all black label and heavy beats.
we have tommy guns and platinum records, protégés in precarious places,
everything a perfectly poised piece
in our monopoly on this heat.
the world is our playground, and my firm belief
is that you should always have more fun
than they allow in most places.
we’re rich because it’s what we are;
we’re classy because that’s how we do.
