two questions

it’s wonderful to see
such a young mind go to waste.

about time kids these days
started using their brains
and their hearts and their hands
instead of letting fickle things
like thoughts and emotions
and past and future
get the the way of here and now.

it’s not proactive or reactive,
not personal or private or public or pretentious,
it’s nothing at all and
everything all at once – as it should be.

funny how i thought thinking
would get me anywhere.
funny how i thought at all.

and all i can do is smile.
once, i thought these feelings to be
abnormal, strange, conflicted.
it’s all about contentment,
happiness, love, and laughter,
above all else.

don’t you see?
open your eyes!
wake up!
the time is here;
the place is now.
get hip, or get hung-up
on history and hunger
and weakness and woe
and the ways of the world
as you see them through your mind’s eye.
see them with your own eyes.
breathe, be, hear, feel,
know, see, live, love,
laugh.

what time is it?
where are you?
